About Me

I was a child who never wanted to grow up.

To me, growing up meant losing her creativity and imagination, and my imagination ran wild. I loved to read and watch movies, and I would expand on the story in my head and draw how I wanted them to end. I was always interested in art but it took me much longer to discover exactly what I wanted to do with this interest. This imaginative mindset continued in high school when I was accepted into a film program which allowed me to create stories of my own.

After graduating high school, I enrolled in community college to explore different interests in art with the goal of gaining more skills and knowledge so I could discover what I wanted to do within the art field. I took film, photography, and drawing classes, but instantly knew that I wanted to pursue graphic design when I took my first graphic design class. Design allowed me to tell stories in a way that I hadn’t experienced before. Although making art is a very personal experience for me, in that it allows her to express what I can't put into words, I love how it had the ability to evoke emotions in others as well. I transferred to Biola University my junior year declaring a major in design, which allowed her to gain more knowledge and skills in this field in which I had grown a passion.

When I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Design, I finally found my niche in the world of art. I moved to Portland the following fall and did freelance and contract work for Nike. I was able to sharpen and improve myself as a designer during my time in the PNW, and I am grateful for that experience because it led me to where I am today. She currently resides in Sacramento, CA and is a graphic designer at
un/common where I work with clients such as SAFE Credit Union, Caltrans, and California State Fair.

Even though I am well into adulthood, I have discovered her sense of creativity and imagination has not disappeared along with my childhood. My love for art has allowed me to realize that it remains very much a part of me, because I have chosen to cultivate it.
